Changeovers can be a stressful task during busy times with multiple bookings. It’s important to ensure your property looks its best during times like this so guests feel at home.

Our owners are supported in all aspects of holiday letting. Here is a summary our cleaning checklist that we use to simplify the lives of owners.

These are the things you should remember when you are running late.

Kitchen

Beyond the obvious steps of cleaning, we also examine the following:

 

  • Clean, empty, and uncluttered fridge, bins, bread bins, cookers, microwaves, kettles, toasters, and teapots
  • Chairs
  • Cupboards, cupboard doors
  • Defrost the freezer
  • Tops of cabinets
  • Extractor fans. Hoods.
  • Verify all equipment is working.

Bathrooms

It is not difficult to clean the toilet, shower, basin, and basin. However, these items will need your attention.

 

  • Bins
  • Mirrors
  • Toilet rolls (and top-up supply)
  • Towels & bathroom mats
  • Shower curtain

Living and dining room

Carpets, furniture, rugs and any other flooring should be vacuumed regularly.

 

  • Ornaments or pictures
  • Woodburners and fires (empty & restock).
  • Bookcases & books
  • Doors and skirting boards

Bedrooms

Vacuuming, cleaning out bins, dusting, and changing your beds should all be part if your regular routine.

 

  • Pictures and ornaments
  • Below beds
  • Mattress protectors, pillows and duvets in good condition
  • Coat hangers

Whole house

This list applies to all properties:

 

  • Lamps and light bulbs
  • Batteries (for remotes etc.)
  • Any high surfaces
  • Doors, handles and tops of doors, skirting boards, dadorails
  • Windows

Garden

Low maintenance gardens usually only require a light tidy-up and attention to the lawns, plants, and flower beds.

 

  • Garden furniture’s cleanliness and condition
  • Dustbins
  • Windows – Externally
  • Gates & fences
  • Decking
  • Driveways and paths
  • Doors and paintwork
  • Terraces

Additional facilities

Hot tubs and swimming pools can be very attractive to guests. However, they might need some extra attention during the changeover days to make sure they are at their best.

It is important to follow the guidelines of government for cleaning and maintaining hot tubs and saunas.

You must ensure that your play equipment, internal or extern, is in safe working condition and clean.
